overseas

oltreoceano is an independent magazine founded in 2022 in Italy, with the aim of deepening, enhancing and spreading the culture of the African-American community among a European audience.

The overseas publishing project is based on in-depth content: at the heart of its activity are long-term monographic and multimedia research.

The aim is to explore the profound impact that this culture, in its many facets, has had, continues to have, and will have on the Western world, with a particular focus on those living in Europe.

The Atlantic Ocean has seen the passage of slaves, goods, migrants, soldiers and merchants. It was a place of pain and hope, encounters and oppression. Oltreoceano presents itself as a symbolic bridge, a tool for weaving together the threads of this vast and complex history.
